Little Otters Dolton Pre School

We are a team of experienced Early Years qualified staff who can offer a fully equipped and spacious setting for young children. We are based inside Dolton Primary School in which we have a range of indoor and outdoor spaces where our children can play, learn and have fun!

We currently are open to take 2 to 4 year olds four mornings and afternoons each week. The children can take just a morning, just an afternoon session or stay for both morning and afternoon sessions.

Our aims at Little Otters are to ensure children are safe and happy in a play based environment, in which they can learn to socialise, gain independence and learn new skills to provide the foundations for good future progress throughout school and life. We recognise that when your child comes here he/she has already learnt a lot from you at home. We want to build on what your child knows and can do, continually taking them further on to the next stage of learning.

We strongly believe that your child's education is a partnership between home and Little Otters and therefore parents are always welcome to come and see us.

What will children do during a session?

Your child can take park in a wide range of activities including both indoor and outdoor based activities. Your child will learn through activities he or she has chosen or from those that are led by an adult. Children in the Early Years learn through play based activities which are fun and enjoyable. These activities are supported by caring adults who will work closely with you to ensure your child makes progress. We keep careful progress records for each child that is linked to the Development Matters Framework. Parents are actively encouraged to contribute to their child's learning journals.

We set up a range of learning activities some of which include; Role Play, Messy Play, Rid on, Small Word Play, Music and Dance, Song and Rhyme, Story Time.
